Job Description:
We’re looking for an experienced Marketing professional with a strong background in the shipping industry for the role of Area Marketing Manager.

The Area Marketing Manager will be responsible for handling a wide range of marketing and operational related tasks, including:

• Find and develop relationships with new customers
• Build and develop relationships with existing customer base
• Manage relationships with existing suppliers
• Managing second hand container sales
• Manage customer and supplier daily interactions
• Attend and represent the company at industry functions as required

The Area Marketing Manager will work closely with the Area Marketing Director and will focus primarily on developing relationships with existing customers as well as seeking new customers within the UK and Ireland plus providing support for South African customers and suppliers.

The successful candidate must be flexible, pro-active, resourceful, innovative and efficient. A high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial to this role, as well as a willingness to learn, attention to detail and an overall positive attitude. Travel within the UK and Ireland is an essential part of the job.

You’ll need excellent communication skills as you’ll be in regular contact with customers and suppliers as well as visitors to the office, this will include:
• Customers such as shipping lines, tank operators and other logistics companies
• Suppliers such as container depots and survey companies
• Office vendors

The ideal candidate will need:
• A bachelor degree or equivalent – a focus in marketing is preferred
• 3+ years of experience in the container leasing industry, or short sea shipping/deep sea shipping industry
• Punctuality in meeting deadlines and work schedule
• Proficient with MS Office
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Critical thinking abilities to evaluation and solve complex problems
• Full, clean UK driving licence

Although this is a manager level position based in Marlow, for the right candidate there may be the opportunity of working part of the time from home.
